Who we are

The Father Initiative is an independent, not-for-profit organization launched out of Oaks Church in Red Oak, TX which has provided the seed funds for The Father Initiative. Over the last ten years, Oaks Church has mothered 20 church plants and fathered dozens of other pastors. We have repeatedly heard the words, “If it weren’t for you, I don’t think I would still be in ministry” from the pastors we have served.

Scott and Jenni Wilson

For more than 30 years, Scott Wilson grew Oaks Church into a thriving local ministry with high global impact. Under his leadership, the Oaks has served thousands of families in the South Dallas area and has raised up and sent out hundreds of successful leaders, both nationally and internationally. Having seen the valuable impact of providing a spiritual covering to many church leaders, Scott founded The Father Initiative to raise up spiritual fathers and mothers with a vision that every pastor should have spiritual parents. He also founded Ready Set Grow, a ministry to help churches breakthrough their growth barriers by sharing his own experience and best-in-class partners. Scott has written many books and is a sought-after speaker on personal, spiritual and organizational growth and leadership. Scott and his wife, Jenni, have been married since 1990 and have three sons and two daughters-in-law: Dillon and Holly, Hunter and Emily, and Dakota.

Andy and Lindsey Lehmann

Andy Lehmann serves as the Executive Director of The Father Initiative, which he launched together with Scott in 2019 with the vision to multiply spiritual fathers and mothers to multiply churches. He had served for years as a part of the leadership team at Oaks Church, providing direction for all external initiatives including church planting, community engagement, global missions, and orphan/foster care ministry. Through his leadership roles in various churches and non-profits, Andy has been blessed to live his passion to help leaders realize their God-given identity and to equip and resource pastors to not only pastor their church, but also to pastor their city. Andy and his wife, Lindsey, met while doing missions work in Kenya and love doing life and ministry together. They have one daughter, Olivia.
